Moscow Charity Counsel

Moscow Charity Counsel has been founded. It is a union of charity and volunteer organizations that have been created by citizens’ initiative.
In the past few years in Russia private charity initiatives have become more common. They are initiated not by rich people or major corporations but by ordinary people that provide charitable assistance during their free time. Private donors and organizations usually work directly with these in need past beaurocratic authorities and other mechanics of transfer of funds and resources. As a result all collected money, medicine, donor blood are provided to these who really need it without any losses during the process.
Moscow Charity Counsel’s main target is to unite such charities in order to exchange skills, resources, experience and to solve joint problems together, as well as to make private charity more popular throughout Russia.
Olga Suvorova, a co-chairwoman of the Moscow Charity Counsel stated: «Our aim is for charity to become popular, common and prestigious, of course, it’s good when a major firm gives a million, but a million people can give one ruble each».
Ekaterina Bermant, a co-chairwoman of the Moscow Charity Counsel said: «Each one of us has unique experience, but it’s important that this experience becomes joint so that we don’t get stuck on our own little problems».
Foreign practices show that 70% of all charity donations are the sums of about 10 US Dollars. In the past year Russian private charities have collected money for hundreds of operations, helped tens of orphanages, attracted hundreds of people to donor their blood, collected money to purchase unique medical equipment for Russian leading clinics. Thanks to private donors and organizations many modern medical technologies and knowledge have come to Russia. More people are joining private charities throughout Russia.
The following charities have joined Moscow Charity Counsel: «Charity Addresses», Fund «Children’s Hearts», Charitable Fund to help orphans «Here and Now», Group «Donors to Children», «Chinese Pilot Company», Internet-Fund «pomogi.щкп», Diema’s Dream, rehabilitation center “Maria’s Children”, Group “One cent from the world”, Fund “MESH”, “Company for help to Russian children”. Moscow Charity Counsel is open to any private donors and organizations to join.
